It seems I have been a teacher all my life. My first student teaching experience was in first grade at, believe it or not, Bagley Elementary with my old first grade teacher Mrs Goodspeed. After that I taught 2nd grade at Roosevelt Elementary in Ferndale, Mi. While there I mentored and was supervisor for a number of student teachers from Wayne State.
I left after a few years to have my 3 children. Once they all started school--I began teaching preschool and also taught classes in my house for 3-5 year olds. This venture was called "Scissors and Pans"--we cooked, sang, danced, heard stories, did fingerplays etc. This lasted for 25 years--I loved it and met tons of lovely people and adorable children that I still have contact with today. I still teach preschool at Beth Shalom and Adat Shalom nursery schools. Oh yes, almost left out the most important thing--I have been married for 44 years to my sweet and still adorable husband Ronnie Caden. During school breaks, we spend time in L.A. with our 2 daughters who live there and our 2 wonderful grandchildren. Our oldest daughter, Jodi, lives in Bloomfield Hills and has a business in Birmingham--so thankfully we do have one close by. Thanks Jodi!!
